Having a Hysterectomy in 3 weeks...scared.?

I am due to have a hysterectomy in 3 weeks, it will be removal of the uterus and cervix, hoping to keep my ovaries. I have endometriosis, I have terrible long lasting periods (10 to 14 days). The doctor tried to do an ablation but my uterus was averted and he said he could not do the ablation safely. Now it is either take hormones for lighter periods (I am 38 done having kids and had a tubal) or have a hysterectomy or suffer from these awful periods. I need advice and support, and what others felt like after their surgeries. When did you return to work? He has to do the surgery laproscopically due to scar tissue from C-Section. Thank you.
